Vienna Declaration calls for nano-adaption of REACH by 2020
The authorities of Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Switzerland have successfully cooperated in the field of nanotechnology for many years. In March 2017, the 11th Nano-Authorities Dialogue took place in Vienna.
During this event the “Vienna Declaration” was adopted. This calls for measures promoting a sustainable approach to nanotechnologies to be pushed forward. In particular, work on the nano-specific adaptation of REACH should be completed by 2020. The declaration was submitted to the general secretary of the European Union's Environment Council and was discussed in the meeting on the 19th June.
