What research is on-going in nanotechnology safety?

Home FAQNanotechnology safety research activities are ongoing at national and transnational level. In Europe, the NanoSafety Cluster website and compendium inform about major research activities in Europe on the safety and health relevant aspects of nanotechnology. While the projects listed in the compendium are mostly those funded by the European Commission, some major national initiatives are also featured. In the USA, the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) gives an overview on many types of US-based research activities, while the US National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provide specific information about occupational and environmental research. In Singapore, nanomaterials are researched in all universities and the concerned governmental agencies have experts who follow the state of the art in their respective fields.
