BAE Systems Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) offers a comprehensive capability in MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) to both industry and academia. Providing concept guidance, through to detailed design, fabrication and prototype / product evaluation.
   
Begbroke Nano aims to provide companies involved in MNT with unrivalled facilities for materials characterisation. By forming partnerships with leading analytical equipment manufacturers the Department of Materials at Oxford University are using the funding to provide a dedicated suite for the analysis of micro and nanoscaled structures.

Nanoscience and nanotechnology - Joint study Royal Society and Royal Academy of Engineering In June 2003 the UK Government commissioned the Royal Society, the UK national academy of science, and the Royal Academy of Engineering, the UK national academy of engineering, to carry out an independent study of likely developments and whether nanotechnology raises or is likely to raise new ethical, health and safety or social issues which are not covered by current regulation.
