UK Nanotechnology Initiatives 

CEMMNT CEMMNT is the first UK Centre of Excellence in Metrology and Characterisation specific to micro- and nanotechnology.
Nano Central NanoCentral is for promotion of safe, beneficial, commercialisation of nanomaterials by acting as the Hub of a Network. Its spokes are Providers of leading edge technologies and equipment covering nanomaterial manufacturing, characterisation and use.
BIS The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) aims to build a dynamic and competitive UK economy. It supports work relating to all areas of nanotechnologies innovation. 
TSB The Technology Strategy Board has responsibility for the UK Micro-Nano Technology (MNT) Programme.

NANOFILM  Characterisation and technological analyses of nanoparticles in liquid based nanofilm products 
NANOKEM Nanoparticles in the paint- and lacquer industry; exposure and toxic properties.
NANOPLAST Nano-technological materials and products in the plastics industry:Exposure assessment and toxicological properties
SIDANO
 The parallelogram approach to assess the risk of engineered nanotechnology materials
NanEAU
 Toxicological effects of emerging nanoparticles in water on aquatic model organisms and uptake in humans from drinking water

 NIOSH The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) provides National and World Leadership to Prevent Workplace Illnesses and Injuries.
 EPA THE US Environmental Protection Agency's mission is to protect human health and the environment.
 NNI The National Nanotechnology Initiative is a US federal Research and Development program established to coordinate multiagency efforts in nanoscale science, engineering, and technology.
 CSIRO Nanosafety research program within the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia’s national science agency.
 BMBF The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is charged with promotion of education, science and research within Germany.
